A few of my favourite things

Saw this the other day and made me chuckle. Happy Friday. Apologies to sound of music fans!!!

Raindrops on noses and snow-sodden mittens,
Warm tea-filled kettles; a complete lack of kittens,
Small paper packages, filled up with things,
Living a life that has no certain strings...

Cream coloured women, a fun, bouncy poodle,
iMacs and water and meaningless doodles,
People who live with their heart and their wings,
These are a few of my favorite things!

Girls with wild tresses and ashes to ashes,
Occasional rugby and Wimbledon smashes,
Silver topped mountains that make my heart sing,
These are a few of my favorite things!

And when life bites, and when pain comes
And the World is hard,
I simply remember
my favorite things
and then I don't feel so bad!

The Future of Evernote

I do love Evernote it's true. It's a brand that just got it right from the beginning. It was a customer need that had reached a critical mass. So many people walking around with laptops but finding that to keep writing your notes in an email or a word doc just didn't work. It was the same principle as Evernote. Write notes. But the ability to categorize, save, re-save, clip and so on has made it an invaluable tool. I have it on two computers and my phone and yes i am even using it for shopping lists. Nice to think of Evernote helping move the way to a parallel universe forward. http://thenextweb.com/insider/2011/09/10/the-future-of-evernote-from-memory-m...

Richard Phillips: A love letter to Lindsay Lohan

Article from the @guardian jonathan jones.  Richard Phillips love letter to lindsay lohan.

Eerie yet true love letter and one that suits Lohan.  How the image can be so much more once movement is added combined with the emotion behind the original intention.

As jones comments, "her appearances in court and the media seem irrelevant beside the persona he portrays".

Bday

It was my bday recently and my good friend and housemate got me this book. It's funny how I didn't realize that I have in fact been to the birthplace of surfing. Huanchaco Peru. Where they have been surfing for 3000 plus years. Felipe Pomar, Lima 1987, published in Surfer magazine April 1988. 3000 years is a very long time. Using a caballito. Highly recommend the book. Not portable but very beautiful.
